JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A sight only a handful of people have gotten to see first hand and one Pennsylvania man can now put himself in that lucky few. Andy Mast of Jefferson County, PA spotted a rare pink grasshopper in his yard right before cutting his grass. Luckily, Mast says his 9-year-old daughter stopped him from mowing so that she could show him the amazing find. Mast says he snapped a photo and let the insect trot back into the wild.

According to the agenda for the Portage Borough council meeting from Monday, work is being done to repeal three ordinances named in a federal lawsuit filed by Bodies in Motion owner Gary Vaughn. The lawsuit, filed last December, names 11 defendants, including Portage Borough itself, its mayor, borough manager, five members of council, and three members of the police department. Vaughn said he argues the borough has some "unenforceable and unconstitutional ordinances"

MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WSBT) — An Indiana man is dead and his 3-year-old son is expected to survive after police say the man jumped from a bridge over the state toll road early Wednesday. Police say that witnesses found a vehicle on the Main Street bridge in Mishawaka and later saw a man holding child. The 45-year-old man then jumped off the bridge. One of the witnesses tried to stop the man from jumping from the bridge to the toll road underneath, but was unable to because of the loose clothing he was wearing.

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Tuesday is the grand opening of Beyond/Hello, Johnstown’s first of two medical marijuana dispensaries to open. Beyond/Hello is located on Main Street and offers products for all 23 conditions eligible to be treated by medical marijuana. There are eight point of sales in the shop, and the facility also includes a private consultation room. According to Blythe Huestis, the president of Beyond/Hello, there will always be a security guard and a pharmacist on site.
The Pennsylvania State Police Troop A Fire Marshal Unit is investigating a house fire that occurred in East Wheatfield Township Saturday morning that left two people dead, state police said. According to a press release, crews from Armagh/East Wheatfield Township, Clyde, Brush Valley, Bolivar, Seward, and New Florence volunteer fire departments and Citizens’ Ambulance Service to a home along Fox Road just before 5:30 a.m. State police said two individuals were located at the scene and pronounced dead, and that their names are being withheld at this time pending notification of next-of-kin.
