WINDBER, Pa. - A hotel coming to Windber took a big step forward Tuesday.
Borough manager Jim Furmanchik said a feasibility study conducted by Hospitality Marketers International came back extremely favorable.
He said the study showed the borough could support a 75-room hotel.
Furmanchik said representatives were impressed with the area’s Flood City Elite baseball fields and Iron House complex. He added it would be the closest hotel to the Flight 93 Memorial, which would make the borough a prime location.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Two additional suspects have been arrested in connection with an airport parking garage shooting that killed a Philadelphia police officer and wounded another, authorities announced Wednesday.
Alexander Batista-Polanco, 21, of Scranton, Pennsylvania, and Hendrick Peña-Fernandez, 21, of Pennsauken, New Jersey, were arrested on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, First Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore said at a news conference.
Police on Monday had said at least two other suspects were being sought as they announced the arrest of Yobranny Martinez Fernandez, 18, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
EVERETT - A Bedford County man is in jail after police say he sexually assaulted two teenage boys.
Police said Jason Strunk, 48, of Everett, sexually assaulted the 18-year-old and 16-year-old victims multiple times between Jan 1 and Thursday.
Strunk faces three counts of felony corruption of minors, three counts of felony unlawful contact with a minor, three counts of misdemeanor indecent assault of a person less than 16 and three counts of misdemeanor indecent assault without consent.
MANCHESTER, N.H. (TND) — A group of caretakers are accused of giving children melatonin without the consent of their parents.
The owner of a New Hampshire in-home daycare, Sally Dreckmann, was arrested on child endangerment charges.
Dreckmann's arrest comes after a lengthy investigation after Manchester police detectives got a tip in November 2023 about "unsafe practices going on" at the daycare at 316 Amory Street. Investigators discovered that the food made for children at the daycare was being sprinkled with melatonin, according to authorities.

A blast inside a coal storage silo, near Riverside in Cambria County, killed three construction workers.
Our film crew was there, documenting what happened soon after the explosion on January 18th, 1963.
Reports at the time say the force blew the lid off the top of the 80-foot-tall bin.
Joseph Skura of Portage, Philip Bever of Ferndale and a man from West Virginia were killed.
CAPE ELIZABETH (WGME)--- After following the conditions of a purple deer spotted in Cape Elizabeth, the animal was put down by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
A department spokesperson says that at first, they only intended to monitor the deer. He says the animal seemed to be in decent health despite its appearance and was seemingly harmless to other deer in the area.
After closer examination of the deer, the department determined that its health was on the decline and put it down.
