Altoona, PA (WJAC) — Altoona Police say a Blair County man is behind bars after he allegedly threatened to kill and extort a local bar owner. According to the affidavit, 52-year-old Ryan Hollingsworth reportedly visited McGarvey's Bar, located in the Juniata section of the city, and asked to speak with the owner. Police noted that, according to the owner, the two have known each other for a couple decades. Investigators say Hollingsworth claimed that the owner had stolen a winning lottery ticket from him, years ago, and used the money to purchase the bar.

Pittsburgh (WJAC) — The Pittsburgh Pirates have reportedly made a trade for Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Ji-Man Choi. As part of the trade, Pittsburgh is sending minor league pitcher Jack Hartman to the Rays. Choi was a member of the Rays 2020 team that lost the World Series to the LA Dodgers. Choi has played in over 400 games with the Rays, in 4-and-a-half seasons, tallying 320 total hits, which included 52 homeruns and 203 RBIs.

A 28-year-old Somerset Borough man has been charged with several felony counts after police found child pornography files on his cellphone and computer. According to a probable-cause affidavit, on Tuesday, officers with the state Attorney General’s Office and state police executed a search warrant on Jacob Ringler’s West Patriot Street home. Police seized Ringler’s cellphone and desktop computer during the search. A forensic examiner found 20 files on Ringler’s phone that reportedly depicted child sexual abuse, according to the affidavit.
