The Board of Game Commissioners Saturday voted to indefinitely postpone plans to reintroduce the American Marten to Pennsylvania. In a 6 to 3 vote, commissioners postponed final acceptance of the 2024-2033 American Marten Reintroduction and Management Plan, but they say the delay might not be too long. 2024-2033 American Marten Reintroduction and Management Plan “outlines a long-term, 10-year strategy to translocate the species back to the state then conduct long-term monitoring to evaluate the reintroduction,” according to the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
AKRON, Ohio (TND) — One person is dead and 24 are injured after a shooting at an Ohio street party. The Akron Police Department said in a news conference that around 10 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a private residence in Akron on reports of a large gathering. Officers arrived on scene and observed around 200 people in attendance of a birthday party who were "taking over the street." Officers dispatched the crowd and no arrests were made.
Having a damaged or otherwise illegible license plate could potentially land you in some trouble, According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, a vehicle registration plate is deemed illegible when one or more numbers or letters cannot be recognized from 50 feet or if the registration plate shows any blistering, peeling, discoloration, or loss of reflectivity. The plate needs to be replaced once it’s illegible. In order to facilitate plate replacements, PA state senator Wayne Langerholc organized an event with the Northern Cambria Police Department where people were able to line up inside their vehicles and fill out the necessary paperwork on the spot.
A second suspect was identified in connection to the murder of a 16-year-old high school student from Maryland who went missing more than 50 years ago, according to authorities. The Anne Arundel County Police Department on Monday announced Donald Willard as the second suspect in the death of Pamela Lynn Conyers. The news comes about a year after authorities identified the first suspect as Forrest Clyde Williams III. The men are both dead, said police, with Willard dying in 2010, and Williams dying in 2018.

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea says its attempt to put another spy satellite into orbit has failed. State media said a rocket carrying the spy satellite exploded in mid-air on Monday, with the explosion possibly caused by engine failure. The communist nation launched the rocket on Monday night, hours after its announcement of a plan to put a satellite into orbit drew strong rebukes from its neighbors. GRESHAM, Ore. (KATU) — Police in Gresham, Oregon responded to reports of a violent attack early Tuesday morning at the Cleveland Transit Station, with investigators saying the injuries were so severe they could see the 78-year-old victim's skull. Initial reports came in at about 2:15 a.m. indicating that someone had been stabbed with a knife on a MAX platform on Northeast 8th Street. Arriving law enforcement officers found the suspect still on top of the victim and realized the incident was not a stabbing but that the suspect had "
ALTOONA - A pediatrician in Blair County turned herself in Tuesday morning on several drug charges. According to a criminal complaint, she’s accused of writing illegal prescriptions for her boyfriend, Andrew Smithmyer. Police said they are still trying to locate Smithmyer. Attorneys said Dr. Rebecca Delbaggio was fired from UPMC Children’s Community Pediatrics as a result of the investigation. Her photo has been removed from the UPMC website, but last week, she was listed as a physician.
Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — 6 News has learned new information on a Johnstown police captain who is facing felony theft and deception charges as it now appears that he may have most of those charges dropped in some sort of deal with prosecutors. Cambria County authorities say this is the first time that Captain Michael Plunkard faced such charges. Court documents show that Plunkard is having an Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) hearing next week.
