CLEARFIELD, Pa. (WJAC) — The Pennsylvania State Police says it is investigating a burglary that happened at a restaurant in Clearfield County. According to state police, the burglary happened at the Riverfront Bar and Grill on Market Street in Karthaus Township between 11 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 a.m. Monday. State police say at least one person cut the electric power to the restaurant before entering through the front door of the bar area by force.

ATLANTA - Former Penn State quarterback Kerry Collins has been selected to the College Football Hall of Fame. In the announcement Monday, Collins was one of 10 players in the 2018 class. Collins was a member of the Nittany Lions from 1991-94 and led them to 12-0 mark in '94 and a No. 2 national ranking. That season, he broke nine Penn State single-season passing records and won the Maxwell and Davey O'Brien Awards.
University Park, PA (WJAC) — Penn State is filing a federal lawsuit against one of its longtime broadcast partners. Learfield Communications has been a multimedia partner for various Penn State athletic teams for more than 20 years. But with the university apparently lining up a contract with another company, Learfield is raising questions on the bidding process and other information. Penn State filed the suit this week, claiming Learfield isn't entitled to the information, under Right-to- Know laws.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A Philadelphia police officer was shot and critically wounded during a vehicle investigation, and two suspects were being sought, authorities said Wednesday. Officials said the officer was shot at least twice shortly after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in west Philadelphia and was taken to a hospital in critical condition. First Deputy Commissioner John Stanford said one officer had approached the passenger side of the vehicle and a struggle ensued with a passenger who opened fire, hitting the officer in the abdomen just under his vest.
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown is mourning the loss of one of its former standout athletes. Leo Feist, a former NCAA regional champion, passed away last Sunday at the age of 60. Feist, a Cambria County native, graduated from Conemaugh Valley High School and went on to become a four-year starter at UPJ. Feist was a member of the Mountain Cats' 1982 Regional Championship team.
A December reward for students happened today in the Westmont Hilltop School District. The administration awarded all students with no disciplinary referrals, failing grades and unexcused absences the opportunity to go ice skating at the 1st Summit Arena at Cambria County War Memorial. VINELAND, N.J. - Police have charged a Duncansville man in connection with the homicide death of an Altoona man at a hotel in New Jersey. According to media reports, Vineland police found the body of Ivan Strayer II, 33, of Altoona inside a room at the Wingate Inn early Tuesday morning after responding to a report of a possible unconscious person.
