State police say a convicted serial killer who’s serving a life sentence in a Florida prison, confessed to killing six people in Pennsylvania thus closing the unsolved cases.
Members of the PSP Troop D Criminal Investigation Assessment Unit announced they’ve cleared four unsolved homicide investigations by securing confessions from convicted murderer Edward Surratt.
They say Surratt is currently serving two life sentences for crimes he committed in Florida and murder in South Carolina.

Kato, a two-year-old Belgian Malinois, joined the team in July after several weeks of intense training.

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Cambria County commissioners approved applications for several grants Thursday morning, including one they say will help with some much-needed repairs for the roof of the Cambria County Courthouse.
During their meeting Thursday morning, commissioners approved applications for three grants.
The first is $579,420 for the county's library system and its community hub project.
The second: $250,000 for Nulton Diagnostics and its medical autonomous care research and development program.
PITTSBURGH -- The ex-boyfriend of a University of Pittsburgh student found slain in her off-campus apartment on Sunday has been arrested in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Pittsburgh police have confirmed the arrest of 21-year-old Matthew Darby, but not provided details about the arrest at about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Darby was charged Tuesday evening with criminal homicide in the death of Alina Sheykhet. Police say they found a claw hammer and two knives in a sewer drain near Sheykhet's apartment.
OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) — Former NFL running back Alex Collins, who played five seasons for the Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens, was killed in a motorcycle crash in South Florida, authorities said. He was 28.
Collins was driving a motorcycle that crashed into a sport-utility vehicle Sunday night in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, the Broward County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
The SUV was making a left turn when Collins' motorcycle hit its rear passenger side.

NANTY GLO- Nanty Glo Park and Pool reopened last weekend for the first time since last summer. The pool was forcefully shut down after allegations of possible safety issues came up in July. "We're tickled to death to have the pool reopened," said Frank Kaschalk president, of the Nanty Glo Municipal Authority.
In July 2016, a notice was stamped on the front gate, with padlocks locking everyone out. After a thorough investigation by the Department of Health, officials said the pool would remain closed until all recommendations were complete.
